Then Suddenly
Then Suddenly
By Christabel Germain
Lightning dance intricate steps,
Across the darkness of my mind.
Its light briefly illuminates,
Shadows,
Of friends I knew long ago.
Silhouettes,
Of places I visited before.
A switch is flipped,
Dusk falls.
A faded memory
Imprinted on my brain.
Wishing to ignite the shadows,
Wanting to brighten the silhouettes
My fingers twitch in anticipation.
An empty surface waits.
